The Team

"Tangerina" (tangerine, in portuguese) is a fruit that, as some believe, has unknown properties that unleash the creativity of those who eat it.

The team is composed by 12 (twelve) high-skilled professionals, including software developers, designers and business consultants. Most of them are graduated or masters at the Federal University of Pernambuco, a top-5 university in the area of information technology of Brazil. Team members also have a strong experience in world-class competitions, having been awarded by companies such as Microsoft, British Telecom and Intel.

Members of the team were awarded as world champions in Imagine Cup 2005, a Microsoft annual competition considered the "World Cup of Technologies". In 2006, team members also took part in the Imagine Cup Accelerator Workshop, held in Reading (UK), jointly organized by Microsoft UK and British Telecom (BT). In such event, the Brazilian team, in partnership with the United Kingdom team, was awarded as the first place in the workshop internal competition. Also in 2006, team members took part in the Entrepreneurship Challenge, held in Berkley (USA) and sponsored by Intel.

Although, currently, most technologies used by the team are Microsoft based, most team members have previous knowledge on others world-class technologies, like Java, Ruby and Python. Whole team takes part on design activities, which are based on an User Centered Design methodology that takes users active participation seriously. The team organizes itself as a Scrum group, running 15-days sprints and continually looking for ways to improve itself.
